:: ouch my ears
At approx 7:30AM GMT Saturday 13th May, I woke up to close the skylight in my room which was letting rain fall on my head, as I reached for the window --KABOOM!!-- It was the loudest bang I ever heard, it resonated through everything. There were no flashes to suggest it was thunder and lightning and no other thunderous noises followed, so, as I haven't heard or read anything about it just wondering if anyone here heard it also and if so, what the fu8k was it? cheers

Yup, I heard it here too over in Stretford. It set car alarms off. I though, "argh terrorists", looked at the clock, realised it was still early and thought, well, at least not many people will have been injured and went back to sleep.
Yeah, I heard it too.... I thought the rain started crashing down louder, so I just assumed I'd been asleep during the lightening. Apparently not.
I drunkenly slept through it, but my housemate apparently rang the police to let them know that he had heard a very loud bang.
